Our Story

Brandon and Faith Ballance both grew up in rural Hanover County, Virginia.  After getting married in 2002 they spent several years serving overseas as christian foreign aid workers. During their travels the dream of operating a small farm was birthed.  They imagined a place where people were welcome to visit, experience and learn about Gods wonderful creation and farm life.

After serving for 2 years in south Wales they moved to Morocco in North Africa to help lead community development projects among the mountain villages.Seeing how the Berber people of Morocco farmed the rocky mountain sides with natural and sustainable methods was an inspiration. After eating their naturally organic beef, chicken and fresh vegetables, they  found themselves feeling healthier.  Their plan was to start a small business raising beef cattle by using local resources, selling to local butchers and providing a few more jobs for the men of the village.  However they had to leave Morocco and their Berber friends in 2010 because of a government persecution of Christians.

Finding themselves back in Hanover they decided to move forward with their dream of raising natural grass-fed beef along with other farm raised meats.  Along the way their family has grown with the addition of three beautiful girls, two of them born overseas.  All three love caring for the animals and the family farm life.
